Cathy Jacobs is a remarkable woman and to someone she was their angel.
She’ll never forget the experience that she had ten years ago in October of
1997. She sat quietly reading a book (curled up in a chair beside) her
truck where she had her business Angel’s Cappuccino and Ice Cream set up.
She felt a (dark) figure pass (behind) her. His presence was cold but you
could feel his energy. He had his hands in his pockets, dressed in all
black and looked as if his world was crashing down. He looked at Cathy’s
business, walked by, looked back and stopped. He seemed attracted to it.
Cathy felt compelled to buy him a coffee so she called out to him.
“Hey, can I buy you a coffee?” said Cathy.
The man looked around to see who she was talking to, not realizing that she
was talking to him.
“Yes I’m talking to you,” she said.
The man walked over to her truck where she made them coffee and soon a
life-changing conversation began.
He poured out his entire life story to her. He spoke of the restraining
order which prevented him from seeing his children. He had no job and his
only home was the car that he lived in. He felt as though he was at the end
of the road.
Cathy then shared her life story with him, hoping to offer him insight into
his own life. They spent five life-changing hours together that day. Cathy
felt the urge to hug him and with that she embraced him with her deep
genuine kindness. He hugged back as if he would never let go. She thanked
him for sharing and he continued on his way.
Several weeks later on a weekend Cathy once again had a line up at her
truck. All sorts of people would stop by at her business so she thought
nothing of it whether someone was dressed in a business suit or jogging
pants and a hoodie. There was someone at the back of the line that was very
well dressed; they waited until there was no line.
The smartly dressed man smiled at Cathy and said hello.
“You don’t recognize me do you?” he chuckled.
She laughed and then realized who the man was. It was the man she had met
many weeks ago, dressed in all black, who she had bought the coffee for.
She (jumped down from her truck) hugged him and then stood back,
acknowledging the change in appearance and attitude.
“The day I met you, everything in my life changed. After I talked to you, I
went to a mall and (met) a man (that)offered me a job. He (offered) me
business (car), a place to live and took me shopping. You were my angel
that day, because the day I met you, I had a loaded hand gun in my pocket.
That day was supposed to be the last day of my life.”
Cathy had been his angel that day and it has changed his life forever. She
hasn’t seen him since that day but knows that she was meant to meet him.
Everyone is someone’s angel.
Human kindness reaches everyone at some point in our lives, usually when we
least expect it.
Cathy believes that everything is divine and is as it needs to be.
“Our lives are serving a purpose for a higher power. Human kindness is the
journey of the soul simply for the experience. Experience leads to
evolution.”
Cathy’s life motto is that she “lives in purpose, on purpose.”
So maybe the next time you grab a cup of java, your angel may be grabbing
one too.
